Word Snake
A few letters to get you started, and a grid of possible routes. Follow the clues to trace each hidden word.
How to play
Each clue shows the first and last letter of a hidden word. Words of six letters or more also reveal a middle letter. Drag through adjacent letters on the grid to spell the answer. Every word is at least four letters long, and your path must spell the answer to the clue you are solving.
Use the revealed letters to check your route as you go. Start on the correct first letter and, for longer words, make sure the middle letter falls in the right place. A word that comes to mind still needs a connected path through the grid. There is a new puzzle each day, your progress is saved, and earlier grids are available in the archive.
Finding the right route
Look for a clue that gives you something distinctive to work with. An unusual letter can narrow the possible starting points, while a revealed middle letter helps you check a longer word. If a candidate fits the clue, look for a route that spells it; if the letters do not connect, try another possibility.
When two clues lead you towards the same part of the grid, start with the one that gives you more information. You can return to a less obvious word later. How to play Word Snake has the full guide. For another way to explore connected letters, try Zanagrams, where you find the words without starting-letter and ending-letter clues.
Questions
What is Word Snake?
Word Snake is a free daily word puzzle from PZL Games. Find words in a letter grid by tracing connected paths. Each clue gives you the first and last letter, with a middle letter revealed for words of six letters or more.
Why is my word not accepted?
Your path must spell the answer to the current clue. Check that the first, last and any revealed middle letters are in the right places. A valid word on the grid may still be a different word from the one the clue asks for.
Is there a timer?
No. You can take as long as you need. Your progress is saved if you leave, and earlier puzzles are available in the archive.
